World Class Provider Of Foreign Exchange Trading Services

Alternative Energy

Market Update Fuel Prices have fallen through the Floor in the Past 8 Weeks on the Futures Boards

Heating Oil High July $4.20 Current Nov. 7 $1.97

Propane     High July $2.00 Current Nov. 7  .78 cents

Gasoline High July $3.60 Current Nov.  7  $1.34
Gas prices have fallen $2.26 per gallon since topping out near $4 aver. at the local gas pumps.   So that means Gas prices at the PUMP shoud be near $1.74 but because the local Gas profit margins are so tight, they lower prices very slowly compared to running pricing higher to squeeze every last cent or gouge another penny or two from the consumers..

*****If you have a current Automatic Fill Plan for you Home Energy, you may want to turn that off.  Or watch as the Energy companies come out and top off your tanks at high prices from a month ago****

When Planning to Setup or Install and Alternative Energy System

Find out what kind of plan you have with your current Fuel Provider.

Example 1
Amerigas owns the 500 gallon underground propane tank in the yard.  With this tank you have to buy a min. of 250 gallons per year.  Choices are you can REMOVE dig it up (Not sure the cost for digging anyone have an idea let me know so i can post it, tank is about 10 ft long but should not be real deep).  Once the tank is exsposed Amerigas comes out and shuts the lines and the tank valves.  Amerigas told us you have to raise it out of the ground for easier loading on the truck (did they not put it in the ground).  Amerigas comes out picks the tank up and charges you a restocking fee and empties your tank and provide a credit (credit i am not sure how much you get price wise for your fuel but I would imagine 50% of what they charged you).  If the current hot water and heat system is using Propane you would still want a Propane tank of some sort incase your outdoor wood furnace goes out.

Or you buy the tank from Amerigas for around $1500 with a yearly depreciation of $30 (so if tank is 5 years old you would substract $150 from the $1500).   Then let your homeowners insurace company know that you own the tank.   Then you can buy the fuel from whomever you want.
